Talk me out of an ID4
Posting from Ontario, Canada. Current 2023 Honda Civic owner, always thought next car was going to be an EV. Have taken care of my civic like a baby. In the market for a bigger car - was considering Tiguan but stumbled on the ID4 offer. Car looks great to me (on paper, yet to test drive. Will be driving one soon)
Financial consideration: After I trade in civic, federal rebate, manufacturer rebate of 5k, and they promotional rate of 0% up to 60 months I’d be paying about $200/month more than what I pay for civic currently. However, considering cost of gas vs electricity I’d be offset at least $100 a month. ID4 being an EV, maintenance would be less.
All in all I feel id be paying $100 more per month. For that I’m getting a bigger, lesser maintenance car (considering EV)
It’s looking like a great upgrade to me. What am I missing? How does it hold up in Canadian winter?
Would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions.
