Important for VGrow owners to know 🌱

So I’ve been having crazy, crazy high humidity issues in one of my VGrow boxes for almost a month now. The humidity in the box has been as high as 75%, when it should be in the high 50’s to low 60’s. My lung room is at a pretty constant 37% rh. I’ve tried multiple different things to attempt to bring it down, all to no avail. Ultimately I’ve had to resort to literally leaving the door open all day to keep the humidity down to where it is supposed to be.

Then last night I had an idea. So this morning I opened up the carbon filter and holy smokes was it clogged up and with a very familiar white powder. The powder is mineral residue from the water in the AeroStream U075 humidifier because we have hard water here. Now I didn’t have this problem with my other VGrow and what I realized is that in this one (the box with the humidity issues) I had placed the humidifier in the front corner of the box, aka directly under the carbon filter. So it rapidly clogged up the filter and led to massive issues.

As a first time grower I simply never thought about this being a possible issue. But I think it’s important for VGrow owners to know so that they can both avoid placing the humidifier in the front half of the box as well as potentially helping to resolve any humidity issues they may be having. I also think that Vivosun absolutely needs to redo the manual for the humidifier to specifically address this problem as well as change the image in the manual to reflect that the humidifier should be placed in the rear of the box.
