Will my car get broken into?

I’m living close to campus and have a new car. It’s nothing fancy (2019 Nissan Maxima), but still it’s new and potentially a target for thieves. Any tips, my friends sister went to USC and had her car seats stolen. That’s the only experience I have to rely on, so kind of worried.
