Dropping Honors

Hello, I'm a mechanical engineering freshman in the SOE, and I'm thinking about dropping the honors program since I'm a commuter to storrs and it seems like I'm just doing extra work for nothing in return. does anyone have any advice/ has been in a similar situation?
