Is it just me?

I have always loved U2 and I was into them in high school and college when they really peaked with Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. I love that their music is spiritual has social causes in it and it’s just beautiful. What I can’t understand is why they aren’t more popular right now or where they went. Seems like they popularized “social awareness” in music and that’s all over culture right now. Maybe they’re still huge and just out of my awareness. I wondered the same thing about REM but I’m less surprised they faded out. Reminds me to see if U2 is touring and I can catch them again.
