Diamond bonded stones

Hey guys, I have a sharpening stone question. So I have been looking at buying some whetstones and I went with the shapton glass series. I was curious as to the utility of the naniwa bonded diamond stones as they keep coming up in my research. I know that they are super long lasting and have the capability to cut into high-carbide steels. However, if I’m just using them for kitchen knives, would there still be any benefit to them? They cost twice to three times the price of other whetstones. I’m just curious where the utility comes from, if you don’t need to cut through those specific types of steels. Any insight about these stones is appreciated.
