Do you see the similarities between these two? Eli Pepperjack and Okarun (Dandadan)

Both have an insane belief in aliens and conspiracies. They also have no friends (Jim was more of an acquaintance). Both become friends with the popular kid. There are more I'm sure, but this is what I have so far.
