What are some bands that eventually became / have become glorified solo acts?
All in the title, I was thinking this morning about some bands that I believe have lost their way. Some have regained their footing, but for most this is the point of no return.
Maroon 5 - Is there even a band anymore? It sounds like most of their music nowadays is Adam Levine singing over beats.
Panic! at the Disco - Even longtime fans were wondering why Brendan Urie was bothering to keep the name alive.
Guns n’ Roses (Chinese Democracy era) - Slash, McKagan, Stradlin, and Adler had been long-gone by the time the album released, and the eventual return of Slash and McKagan was unthinkable at the time, effectively giving the Axl Rose show a good run from 1997-2016
Ice Nine Kills - Spencer Charnas is the only founding member left but this one more feels like the band has always been his vision, not the vision of a few guys that got whittled away over time.
Falling in Reverse - Ronnie Radke’s the only founding member left but let’s be real, it was always a glorified solo act.
