Foreigners married to academic Thai women or those with advanced degrees?

I see lots of foreigners married to Thai women, but the many of those seem to come from poor families and seem to have a fairly low education level. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but some foreigners might seek a wife, who has pursued higher education, etc.

Could you please share insights on how common it is for foreigners to be in a marriage with financially independent, professionally successful Thai women, who have pursued higher education? I often hear something along the lines of "why would such a woman want to hook up with a foreigner?"
