Thoughts on buying used out of warranty Model S
Hello, I apologize if this is something that's been asked here before. I tried to search for a thread that covers this topic but I didn't find anything.
Would anyone care to share their thoughts on purchasing a used model S that is out of warranty? Probably something like a 2016 with 75k-90k miles on it.
I'm thinking of purchasing a used model S. I'm looking at vehicles that meet the "Used EV" tax credit requirements, which means they have to be bought from a dealer, for less then 25k. That pretty much leaves moderate milage vehicles around 8 years old. It seems battery degradation is the biggest issue with older EVs, but it'll be used for mostly driving around town, probably no more than 75 miles in a single day. No road trips or anything like that, so range isn't that big of a deal. I hear battery failure is rare and the battery should be usable up to 300k miles.
Should I be cautious about buying a 2016 model S 70D with 90k miles for around 24k?
