Good effects paint for polished marble look on dungeon tiles?
Hi all,
I have been having great fun making dungeon tiles based around the 3d-printed OpenForge/OpenLock system.
So far I've stuck with premade tiles but a set I'd like to custom make is a nice "polished marble" look, where I'd print the tiles smooth (no texture except for subtle grid lines), wet-sand to smooth finish on top, paint on the marble texture, and apply a glossy varnish. For palace/temple interiors and such. The tiles use a 1" grid to represent 5 ft on a side, so the texture would need to be of an appropriate scale.
I've been wondering if there might be special effect paints that are intended to mimic white marble. And indeed, it looks like there are spray options from Montana. But I'm hoping to find a good brush-on option.
Or perhaps just painting it on the old-fashioned way is the ticket, although with my painting skills it's hard to say how well that will work in practice!
