Why do you teach middle school?

Truly no judgment, I’m just curious. I’m in elementary and that’s definitely my sweet spot, and I know a lot of high school teachers feel the same way.

But whenever I hear people talk about teaching middle school, they always talk about how horrible it is! But surely there are teachers who choose to teach middle school, and I’m just curious what your reasons are! It definitely gets a bad rap.
