Cure being developed
Theres currently a team of students at FSU (university in America) working with professionals to develop a potential cure for TMAU.
The science behind the cure is that they have essentially genetically modified a certain type of bacteria to produce an enzyme that breaks down TMA, therefore you would consume a pill/liquid that contains this bacteria during or before meals and it would massively reduce your symptoms.
There was actually a team working on this a couple years ago called IGEM who have a lot of knowledge and experience on the matter and have been supervising this new team throughout the process of developing the cure. Some of you might be aware of them, this current project is a continuation of their work.
Within their group they have multiple teams working on different sides of this project, from developing the cure to the business side of things, however they are a relatively small team and are having difficulties due to the sheer lack of information available out there about this condition.
This is basically our only shot, as a community we need to figure out a way to help these people in whichever way they need, my idea is that we need to figure out a way to connect them with other professionals that could perhaps use their high level of expertise or knowledge to further the development of this cure, but im not entirely sure how i would go about that. We need to brain storm ideas of how we're going to help them and then contactact them with our ideas to see if we can help, please drop below any ways you believe we can help them.
In the video they posted they say they need someone who can help with things like a website or commercial side of things, you may actually have the skills they need for certain aspects of their team or know someone who can help them, the video explains in more detail where they need help
They also recognise how debilitating our condition is and want to make TMAU a recognised disability, which is absolutely massive since most of us are struggling with finding/keeping work.
Here is the video the team released explaining the details of the cure and where they would need help: https://youtu.be/I5xt1ah2URE?si=z80YxJBbyriGz6mc
Also for those who like to deep dive and look into different articles regarding this condition here is their website where they provide a massive amount of information on this, infact it would be super helpful if someone could go through the website and make a post about anything they found useful.

Another thing too i know alot of you want to or have tried to reach out to doctors or physicians about this condition and none of them have been able to help, on the website they have a list of all the doctors and scientist that they have been helping them develop this cure or have provided them with information. So hopefully if you do reach out to them they would actually be able to help in one way or another.
