Any games similar to Reign of Kings?

Although many people didn't like reign of kings, I enjoyed it very much. It had it's issues, however I found it very fun, especially with friends.

Are there many other games with at least a similar idea? I would really like to find something because currently reign of kings has ~35 people online and I don't think I'll be able to find much action on any given server.
