New sso updates?

I recently joined sso again after not playing for 5 years and i am just wondering will they add new map areas or new quests? I wanna buy lifetime but i am not sure if i should. I haven’t keeped up with sso for so long and now reading everyone’s opinions on new sso and how people who have completed the main quests don’t have anything to do anymore i am not sure if i should buy.
