Continuation of my fictional 1942 French army. Introducing the H1 series.

Introducing the H1 series.

First to last.

H1: (camion logistique) The base model of the armoured truck. This has 35mm front armour and 20mm everywhere else. It weighs in at 10 tonnes and is powered by a powerful v8 engine. It has 2 crew, driver and radioman and is armed with a French 8mm mg on the front. It is a powerful truck designed at being a mobile repairs, tow, logistics and recce vehicle and is the back bone of the French army at this time (1942) and is also by far the most produced chassis of the war by the French.

H1cbai: (camion blindè anti-infantry) this weighs in at 12 tonnes as in the heaviest of the variants due to the added 20mm all round turret that houses 1 gunner and a 20mm auto cannon loaded with HE rounds. The purpose of this vehicle is to be fast an maneuverable to move and shoot at enemy positions inside ruins and cities. It is narrow enough to get through most streets even when covered in debris. Whilst not heavily armoured, the H1cbai uses its speed and maneuverability to get into the fight. Fire a few shots and get out. Letting infantry get in under the cover fire.

H1M-8cm (80mm mortier) This features 2 additional crew who man a 80mm mortar. They use the fast maneuverability to move about as a breakthrough unit to soften up places for an attack. They can fire a dozen shots before moving position to prevent the enemy from locating their position.

And lastly H1T (transport de troupes) and is the infantry carrying version of the truck. It has capacity of 4 sitting men and 3 standing, with the front man having access to a front mounted mg with 45 degrees arc of fire whilst the other men can using the open topped firing deck to shoot from should they need.

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated for either other variants or entirely new vehicle types. Next idea might be an spg or a proto type/experement tank.
