Difficulty and how to fix it

TLDR for those who don’t wish to read my entire rant: 1. Increasing dmg and hp is not a fun or engaging difficulty 2. We need more pinning enemies and they should focus on locking down players not killing them outright. 3. Please give your own suggestions on how to make the game more fun and engaging.

Now onto the rant. First let’s go over the current way space marine 2 increases difficulty. They increase the Hp and dmg across the board… oh and there’s enraged enemies if they’re worth mentioning. (They aren’t) the fact that it take 3-4 body shots from a relic bolter to kill a gaunt is absurd, those same gaunts take 50-75% of a single armor pip as well with 1 hit. It should only ever take 1-2 shots in the body. We came here to kill thousands of nids if they’re weaker send more at us. To make things quick I would probably do this to every enemy across the board except bosses maybe though we’ll get into them more later.

Secondly pinning attacks. Now what do I mean by “Pinning attacks” these are your licktor and ravenor grabs. Currently whenever you’re grabbed they deal a massive amount of damage I would change this so that when pinned they only deal chip dmg but you stay in the animation for much longer, also take away the BIG RED ImMa GeT CHU sign! Away from the lictor and ravenor’s pinn atks. Instead give them tells for the incoming attack like the ravenors digging could be more easily seen, and the Lictor especially should have a sound based tell like predator clicking noises or the characters can say “we are being hunted” I should not be singing A Thousand miles, see a big red circle press space, curb stomp the lictor and go back to singing. I should be screaming “NO! NO! NO! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!” And after my teammates pull the diddy monster off me I should be shooketh full thousand yard stare and never forget those clicks again. By making them less dmg focused you can send more out every mission. Now for bosses they should also have a pin darktide for example has a few bosses that pin you down completely while they cause havoc.

final thoughts: first hive tyrant should be a multi person execution cutscene at the end not some boring off screen shoot em a lil bit “aw looks he’s tired” ahh ending. Please god fix the xeonthropes laser AND MY LIFE IS YOURS SABER! Chaos is just tiring to fight the only time I pick it is if I want to switch things up afterwards I say “yeah that was… exhausting time to go back to nids” there more I could say but this post is long enough already.

Msg to Saber and the community as a whole: I don’t want every suggestion I made to the letter. I just want you to consider the idea itself and refine it into something feasible, and feels good to play. To anyone who read this please put your own suggestions in the comments or make a post of your own there are only two outcomes either your suggestions is unheard and fades away like this one may very well do, or it actually gets read by someone from saber. There are no bad outcomes.
