{Generations] The Time Eater's kidnapping of Shadow

Okay so, at the beginning The Time Eater not only kidnapped Sonic and his friends into the White Void, but also went out of its way to take Shadow when he was in the ARK and also inadvertently taking the Black Arms larvae which had Black Doom's consciousness. On Sonic's end, we discovered that Eggman was responsible and somehow had full control of this creature to do his bidding. So...why on Earth did he kidnap Shadow? The White Space is a separate dimension that the Time Eater reigns, invading timelines to take objects into the void, and Shadow has no idea of it's existence. Its already bad enough that Eggman has to deal with classic and modern Sonic, but bringing in Shadow as a extra threat was a poor decision on his part. What are your thoughts on this?

Bonus thought: Its also more than likely that he also brought Gerald and Maria into the White Space as well for obvious reasons; to finally meet the grandfather he idolized before his fell from grace and the cousin who was the family's angel.
