Is Darjeeling safe for my first-solo-trip? ⛰️

So I've been planning to go on my very first solo trip since last year. As per my taste and budget, I've thought of visiting Darjeeling. Now the question- is it an appropriate solo-trip destination? As in, is it safe? Are the locals helpful? What's the vibe like? Have you been on a solo trip to Darjeeling before? What are the must-visits and must-eats?
