What is the difference between D and SD?

To be more specific a D that’s put on weight and SD. Does a chubby D not look as curvy as an SD? And on the other hand does an SD that doesn’t have a large chest look closer to D? I’ve never understood how these are typed with difference in weights/chubbiness.
