does the sims 3 still work on modern computers?

hey guys! this mayy be a silly question, but does the sims 3 still work on modern hardware? i have been recently nostalgic over the game (and the sims 4 is too toony for my taste) and have been wanting to play it. however, i keep seeing posts online about its bugs and unplayability. i am unsure if it will run or even support my video card; for reference, i have an NVDIDIA geforce rtx 4070 graphics card. does anyone have any heads-ups or suggestions i should know about?
