Helly’s role in MDR and going forward

Being that we know Helly is an Eagen, and her participation in getting severed is a publicity stunt of sorts to appeal to the public and promote severance, why was she placed in MDR? There’s obviously other departments she could have been assigned to, but being placed in MDR specifically is interesting. They mentioned in S1E1 she was a replacement. (We can assume of Petey, but it’s odd since has just stopped working for Lumon that day. Do we know if Petey resigned of his own accord, or if he was fired by Lumon? If he was fired, would they not have removed his chip at that time?)

Do we think there’s any significance to her innie meeting her quota on the same day she was to give a speech about her time being severed? It seems she wrapped up her work in MDR, and I don’t think she will be apart of that department going forward because she’s a high profile Eagen, who was only working there temporarily for the experience of being severed. Of course we shall see the fall out of Helly sabotaging Helena’s speech, but I doubt She will continue the day job of working in MDR.
