December Sat Car Crash
Quick story i would like to tell:
The night before the test, i set my alarm at 6:30 am. The exam was said to start at 8 am and i was supposed to be at the test center at 7:45 am. Unfortunately for me i slept very late which was unplanned. I woke up at 5:30 am to go pray since i'm a muslim-finished praying and went back to sleep immediately after in the living room. Now here's where things go crazy:
MY PHONE ALARM DIDNT GO OFF! I woke up at exactly 7:37 am, i only had 7 minutes to my hand. (Note that the test center was 20 minutes from my home). I jolted out of the couch and immediately prepared the stuff i need: National id, calc and the laptop. Didn't have time to pee or anything, was running to the car like a rat. Putting the location on google map i was speeding like insane. Now here's the part where i crash. Nearing the test center, there was a right turn, what you're supposed to do is look whos exiting the turn and after that you can go on, but since i was in a hurry, i immediately took the turn and crashed into someone. What makes it worse is that I DON'T HAVE A DRIVER'S LICENSE. I was beyond cooked at this point and i actually thought id go to jail or something smh. It was 7:55 at this point and i've only got 5 minutes to make it to the test center. After the crash happened, i parked where we made the accident thus blocking the entrance to the road. Since this road was next to a main street, the police spotted us and came to the spot. My legs were shaking unbearably and the guy i crashed into was telling me to calm down since i explained my situation and my father contacted him. The guy then told me that he'll try to negotiate with the police and basically free me. Thankfully, the police freed me and just asked for my ID.
Now freed, i was worried that i missed the test and lost my chance since this is my first SAT exam. Fortunately, i didn't miss it because someone there explained that even if i came anytime before the 10 minute break i was good. I took the test, it was easier than expected but still hard. Hopefully i get a 1300 although im kinda doubting it.
Moral of the story: Set multiple alarms or let someone wake you up.
Excuse of me if you see any grammatical errors since English is not my native language.
Update: very very disappointed. Just checked my phone and scored a fucking 1060. All this misfortune and a car accident just to get a 1060, will be applying test-optional.
