Thoughts on moving fidelity 401k to Robinhood account in SCHD?
Hello all, so I am fairly new to investing (3 yrs of buy and hold). I have a typical 401k through work that I logged into and it’s the basic 2050 retirement plan through fidelity. In the 5 years of working at current company I have 18k in it. About 3 months ago I bumped up the percentage and also now am 100% vested. It is company matched 50%. Looking at this plan I feel that at the age of 40 I will not have a lot in my 401k in 20-25 years. I was thinking would it be a good idea to move my 401k to Robin Hood and put it in SCHD since it pays pretty good dividends. I currently have a Robinhood account with about 78 shares of SCHD currently. I put money into the Robinhood biweekly. Thoughts on putting that 18k in Robinhood SCHD? That would bring my current shares to roughly 750 and that snowball effect would be good for the next 20-25 years. I’m looking at the long term dividend to sustain my retirement plan. Any insight is appreciated
