Launch Editions Owner, how are your cars holding up?
Hi everyone,
People always ask me how my launch edition ownership has been thus far, as they are worried about the first Gen's (particularly early VINs) reliability. I have a 2022 R1T (VIN 10XX), it has been 25k miles so far and I have encountered no major issues. I've scheduled an appointment to get the power tonneau fixed in November.
Frankly, I think the launch edition is great because Rivian has gone through rigorous testing and quality control before they sell the cars. It was their first impression to the market and they needed to make sure everything works well as intended. My friend who is an ex-Rivian tech in Quality team also confirmed that his team has worked on the early VINs multiple times to address common issues from the factory prior to releasing the vehicle for delivery.
Overall, I don't have any major issues on my LE (and bonus, we have a few more outlets inside the car, proper wood trim in the back of the front seats, and wristband is still working flawlessly!)
Just wanted to throw this out there in case any of you are considering a used R1 launch edition.
Cheers
