Need advice on how to build my defenses

So pretty new only started less than a week ago and been learning the ropes on how to properly play had to restart 2 times and this is my best run so far. Until I learned that raids got bigger with wealth so now am putting all my steel and components into building turrets. Question is how should I place them am planning to funnel the two entrances to my base and place alot of turrets. Is this a good choice?
