A New Way To Play Events
The Events and Web Teams have been hard at work to bring new features to the site to help streamline events, from both a participation aspect, as well as a management aspect. For the first time ever, this year’s Achievement of the Week will be using an events page to keep track of your progress throughout the entire year! What does this mean for you, the participant? Well, for one, you will now have an easy way to keep track of your progress. Another massive benefit is that there is no longer any need to delete progress on old achievements or use an alt to earn Achievement of the Weeks or Months that you have unlocked previously. The new system will allow you to re-earn these achievements even if you have them already unlocked!
We are aware that many users use alt accounts for many different reasons. We are hoping these new changes can remove the necessity of using these alt account while participating in events. Because of the way this system works, manual verification is needed from the Events team to count points earned on alt accounts. Working with us together on this will help streamline the process for all parties. We understand this system is brand new and may need some time to get used to, but we strongly encourage those who normally use alts to give this a try without them. That being said, if you truly feel you need to use an alt for this year’s Achievement of the Week, a forum post will now be required for every achievement earned on an alt in order to award the point on your main account. There is no need to declare it until the first time you use it. If you have any questions related to alt usage, please feel free to reach out to the Events team.
Another popular usage for alts is to prevent having unmastered sets on your main account. Instead of using an alt, you can now earn all achievements up to and including the Achievement of the Week or Month on your main account, then reset them all after you earn the featured achievement on the event page. Although we urge to only reset achievements at your own risk, resetting progress on the original game will not delete it from the event page you earned the achievement for. Event pages will not be factored into average completion percentage. Do not ever delete progress on the event page. This is the only way to lose event progress. The event page is located at the bottom of this post
With all of this said, we are all very excited to see what the future of events holds, and we hope you all do too!
