Getting frustrated any good ways to get stronger

Been stuck for a little bit just hit Level 40 to open the Doom Tower and whatnot but it almost seems like anything I try to do requires stronger Heroes and I don't quite know what the heck to do like I've got quite a bit of strong Heroes but it just doesn't seem like they're strong enough any suggestions on how to do better
