2 Yrs Post Rhinoplasty - Revision?
I got a rhinoplasty in Oct 2022 and overall, I’m really pleased with the result and don’t have regrets. I’m trying to have realistic expectations, so I don’t expect “perfection” but I have a couple of questions to see if it would be worth it to commit to a revision, based on if my expectations are reasonable.
What I had done: More symmetry of the right side alar crease to the left, straightening the bridge from a side profile angle and narrowing the bridge from a front angle; rasping the bridge a little to remove a callous about 1.5 yrs post; no complications in recovery
About 4-5 months post-op, I squeezed the right side tip of my nose really hard to remove milia and I think may have contributed to that tip side being much more “pointy” with a little dent and tip cartilage being flatter than the untouched left side. My question being: is it even possible to do that physically to myself and if going into a revision, would it be possible to round out that side more? TBH, I’m not really sure how tip structure is manipulated.
Although my bridge is straighter and narrower, I’ve noticed that the cartilage (or bone?) is more concave on the left and convex on the right, so if feeling it/looking down from up top, it would look like ) . Would a revision have greater odds in making it more even? I’m just concerned it would revert back, if cartilage memory is what affected the shape while healing the first time.
I attached pictures from all angles and hopefully they show what I mean.
I’ve put off re-contacting my surgeon to see if it would even out after rasping, to generally try to avoid another surgery, and because one of these is possibly self-inflicted lol. These are very minor things as I’m fairly certain it is unnoticeable by others and liveable-with but my preference would be to have it more even (doesn’t have to be exactly the same, just closer), both for aesthetics and because my glasses are sitting crooked now lol. Worth another surgery to correct? Any advice, insight, opinions, reality-checks welcome! Thank you!
