Admissions guidance

Hello everyone, I am a grad student based in Spain with a background in reproductive biology. Until this year, I never considered pursuing a PhD. However, during my master's program, I realized that I would be a better fit for a PhD rather than starting a career in a clinic.

Unfortunately, throughout my academic journey, I didn't focus on working on any projects, so I lack direct research experience. I've applied to several universities in Canada, specifically in Toronto, but I've only received rejections so far. Additionally, my attempts to contact potential supervisors have gone unanswered. I am attaching my resume here, and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for improvement. And also how should I work on the application process or should I first try to get some research experience and then apply for phds in the upcoming years?
