Daughter is disabled. What can we do to prepare for when she turns 18?

She is 3 years old and is currently getting government funding to pay for the things she needs (leg braces, walkers and prosthetics) she has this funding until she turns 18 at which point she/ we will be on our own. The cost of a lot of this equipment can be very expensive ($1,000 - $20,000+ depending on what we need / want)

Through my job, I have insurance, but they don't cover stuff like that. Our financial yearly gross income is somewhere between 50k and 70k, depending on various circumstances. We might get away with 8-10K in savings per year.

What are my wife's and I current options to best plan for the future with our finances?

Do we just save and invest the best we can? Are there insurance companies that will help with this? If so, when should we sign up for them? I assume by the time she is 18 she will be good with whatever prosthetic and equipment that is funded for a while. But there will need to be replacements and maintenance at the very least.

Edit: i live in BC

Edit 2: thank you everyone:)
