Is evasion trash?

Since bosses are never going to miss and all the mobs you face have enough accuracy to hit you is it useless to have evasion? Wouldn’t it be better to go armor or energy shield? Is there a point to stacking evasion? I don’t know if it’s viable in pvp as I’ve never done pvp in poe1 so genuine question here am I wasting my time stacking evasion?
