I have managed to lose weight and have a 'regular' cycle after 20+ years of having PCOS taking metformin, myo-inositol and alot of differents vitamins together!
Hello everyone,
I have been battling PCOS since 2003 and having irregular cycle to absent period since then. I am 34 years old and i have always been a active girl but with a oval shaped stomach.
In 2023, i discovered chromium picolinate and it gave a me a regular menstruation cycle for six months alongside healthy eating, strength training and going to the gym everyday. But, after six months, it stopped working because my body got used to it.
I did some research and i discovered myo- inositol and i started it daily and it worked. I waa having regular cycle every month. But, the weigh was not coming off despite doong everything mentioned above.
For years, i was advised to take metformin and i did but it did not work after 3 months of taking it so i gave up. But, now after taking myo-inositol and metformin together, strength training and eating healthy and giving up sugar, the weight is falling off. For the first time in 21 years, people are complimenting me on my weigh lost! I am more energised and i dont have a huge stomach which made me look 5 months pregnant!
The PCOS put me into the pre-diabeates category but i am no longer in it!
These are the vitamins i take everyday with the life style change i mentioned above:
15g Vitamin B6, 15g zinc, 15g iron, ashwagandha (to lower my cortisol level), myo-insitol (4000mg), metformin (500mg x 2 daily morning and once in the evening), evening primrose. I used to take 1,000g of vitamin D3 but i had to stop becauae my blood test showed my levels were too high.
Metformin was prescribed by my doctor and i will continue to take it.
I hope this post gives someone hope and the above helps another woman!
