Pine flooring

My house is not old, but in my heart, I long for it to be. 😁 I’m thinking about changing out the flooring, which I hate, for something with character. I love the look of the pine floors in the home museums and historic homes I’ve been in and would love to replicate that look. I know it’s a soft wood and will ding and scratch easily, but to me that’s just patina and I love it.

Can you give me the pros and cons, what you love, what you hate, and how feasible pine floors are for everyday life? Can I even replicate the look found in historic homes?
