Is Ryukishi07 a TRUE chronicler of C-197?
C-197 (naming convention borrowed from Rick and Morty) is the primary dimension related to the delusions and maladaptive daydreams of Chris Chan. It is said to be where (most) fictional characters reside, and has been prophesied to one day merge with Earth-1218 (naming convention directly influenced by Seanan McGuire, a Marvel comics writer).
Going by this logic, it is likely that the characters from Ryukishi’s works (such as Higurashi and Umineko) would also reside in the C-197 universe. Chris believes that authors are not creatives, but visionaries chronicling the goings on in another universe. However, their visions aren’t always wholly correct; they’re only human! With Chris being a CPU Goddess, she has the authority and clarity to correct these inaccuracies.
There is an interesting parallel between Ryukishi’s works and the chronicles of Sonichu. Similarly to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (something I’m not personally familiar with, so I apologise for any mistakes I may make), there is a consistent theme that the characters are actually just actors playing out a role. In the epilogue of Sonichu Issue #0 Episode 3 Sonichu refers to Chris as “father”, yet throughout the actual story he is seemingly unaware of who Chris is evidenced by their introduction being portrayed as their first time meeting. Sound familiar? Like… Bernkastel and Rika Furude, or the different depictions of Okonogi in different iterations of the When They Cry series?
It is in my personal best interest that Chris is introduced to When They Cry and is able to make an official statement on this. If possible, I would like Christine to channel Ryukishi’s spirit on camera so he can comment on it as well. Maybe Randy Stair too, for good measure. Again.
