Realistically how hard is homegrow?

Let's say I start at absolute beginning of everything with absolutely no knowledge of how to do this. Where can I find a great step-by-step tutorial to teach me to grow three to four plants. Looking for rotating harvest cycles and offering extra to friends is the free gift
