Sanderson's bracket technique

Hi all,

Do you know the bracket technique created by the writer Brandon Sanderson? In short terms, every time you create a thing while writing you "open a bracket". It could be a place, an item, an historical event. This opened bracket should get eventually a closing one. The place ends being the local of the final battle, the item ends being something that it needed to diffuse the bomb, etc.

I want to keep track of my brackets. Can you thing of ways to do that? I first thought of using a front matter content. "Date of creation" and "date of conclusion" but I don't know it's the best way of doing such thing.

Can you think of alternatives?
