Which to Choose: Samsung G80SD vs. Asus PG32UCDM?
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to buy a new monitor but can't decide between these two models.
I’d mainly use it for work, with some occasional gaming. I believe a high-end OLED is the way to go since it offers the best of both worlds. A 32-inch display seems perfect for productivity—it’s not too large or stretched but still provides plenty of screen real estate.
Matte vs. Glossy
I think a matte finish would be better for me since my desk is right next to a window. However, if the picture quality is significantly worse, I wouldn’t mind lowering the blinds. That said, it would be nice not to feel like I’m working in a cave.
Design
I prefer Samsung’s design because I’m not a fan of the “try-hard gamer” aesthetic. That said, design isn't a deal-breaker for me.
Color Accuracy
My main concern is the difference in color accuracy between these two monitors. From what I’ve read, the Asus is the clear winner in this regard. But is the difference really noticeable after calibration? I do semi-professional video and image editing, so color accuracy is important—but it’s not critical enough to justify a professional-grade color grading monitor. If the difference is minor, I might not even notice it.
Price
Where I live, both monitors are available at a very similar price, with only a $70 difference. Because of that, price isn't a deciding factor.
Final Question
Which monitor is the better overall choice? Which one will provide the best experience?
I appreciate any insights, experiences, or recommendations. Thanks for your help!
Cheers! :)
