Are Israelis brainwashed on the way they speak to foreigners?

I’m currently traveling and have met a lot of Israeli travelers. While I don’t share my personal views, I’m curious about how they are able to travel, given the situation in their country. From what I’ve seen in the news, it seems like a very tense and unsafe situation, but the Israelis I’ve spoken to act as if their country is completely safe and not in a state of conflict. I did ask one person about the safety of their country, but it made them visibly uncomfortable, and they assured me that everything was fine. It left me wondering if maybe I’m misinformed.
