Is nextcloud for me?

I have like 6 TB of space on my PC.

I want a cloud storage for my personal projects where I might store some old movies, shows, cartoons and stream them for my personal use. I would also use it to share video drafts to my friend for video editing work.

Is nextcloud a good choice?

If so, how can I setup nextcloud on my PC? and access it using API?
