What are some good video editors?

I'm starting a twitch and youtube channel (just as a hobby), and i figured I may as well make a few videos before I do any livestreams. The only issue I've found, is that i don't know any video editing softwares, or oven how to find out if the software is safe to download. Does anyone have any advice on softwares to look into? Any help is greatly appreciated!
