I need help choosing a board🙏

I'm 15m but massive, 6'4" and wearing size 16 because of this I have a hard time balancing out on a normal skateboard so instead I got a longboard, the problem is that I've noticed several considerable differences design wise between longboards and skateboards including wider wheels on longboards, and a different deck shape. I wanted to come and ask if a longboard is suitable to learn the basics of skating and are there if you guys have any suggestions for me to help me out. Thanks
