Crib height?

My almost 8 month old has been able to bring himself up in his crib. We have lower it down one level and he’s still able to bring himself up but he’s not top heavy anymore so only his head and shoulders pass the railings. (I wish I could send a photo for better context)

Anyways. I usually let him play independently while I do chores around the house but now I’m worried that he might fall out of it? I know it’s developmentally good that he’s able to pull himself up with support and that I should stop it but worried mom here.

Do I need to drop it to the lowest level or should this be ok?
