Governor Landry to fly the 'MAGA' flag the Governor's Mansion for inauguration. Of course he will. Lord.
BATON ROUGE, La. — Louisiana’s governor says he will show his support for President-Elect Donald Trump on his Inauguration Day by proudly flying the American flag and a "Make America Great Again" flag and encourages residents to do the same.
Gov. Jeff Landry has issued a proclamation urging residents to display U.S. and "Make America Great Again" flags on January 20 in honor of President Donald J. Trump's inauguration.
The Governor's Office said it is suspending the period of mourning for Bourbon Street terror attack victims. January 20 was to be held in remembrance of Edward Pettifer, but will now be postponed to Jan. 24.
“Gone are the days of open borders. Gone are the days where Americans have to worry about gas and grocery prices while taxpayer dollars are shipped overseas,” said Governor Jeff Landry. “Today, under President Trump, begins a renaissance in this Nation. One where America and her people will always come first. In Louisiana, we think that is worthy of celebrating!” Landry announced that the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion will also fly a “MAGA” flag to mark the occasion.
President Trump won the 2024 presidential election with 312 electoral votes, carrying all swing states and securing the popular vote with 77 million votes. Of those, 1.2 million were cast in Louisiana.
