I dropped liquid at Albert Heijn
23F first time studying abroad here, I cannot believe this can be happened to me today 😭
I went into AH to get the baking soda and whipping cream (around 100ml), just small stuffs so I didn't take the basket. All of the sudden the whipping cream fell off and just spreaded all out. I was so in shocked and didn't know how to react (its basically a nightmare for an introvert). A nice woman stood next to me kindly looked for someone to help and one guy came to take care of the mess. I asked if I can pay for it and stay to clean the whole thing (cause this is how its normally done in my home country), the guy said it happens all the time here don't worry (but I really do 😭) He gave me tissues and said the cleaning cart will come right over to clean it and I can get the new ones and then he ran away.
My questions are is that how AH process these kind of situation? Do I need to pay for the damaged product and if I dont do the employees get a fine? They were all so nice and gentle that makes me feel more guilty since I literally ruined somebody's day 😭😭😭
