Question about light on google nest protect

Hey! Im thinking of buying some google nest protect smoke detectors for our home. My girlfriend hates ANY kind of light at night, even a tiny led spot will be covered for her to sleep. On pictures i see that the google nest protect has a ring thats blue/red etc. Can you turn off the light entirely? All i can find are instructions on how to turn off pathlight, but im not sure thats the same thing? If we are buying this as a detector for our bedroom it cant have a light thats always on, no matter how faint. Does anyone here know if you can make it completely light free (ofcourse lights when its detecting stuff is fine, im talking about when its just sitting there normally)
