Nanit flex stand hack

We have the Nanit camera that we use over the bassinet with a cheap flex stand. I was frustrated to find that the nighttime analytics only worked if it was on the wall mount or floor stand, which I wasn’t spending another $200 on. Turns out, there is a way to switch it off of “auto” mode and manually put it into floorstand mode, which then makes it record sleep analytics.

In the app, go to the three line menu, and to your child’s settings. In advanced at the bottom, You’ll see the firmware version. Tap that box 5-6 times quickly, and a box will drop down underneath it to switch the mount mode of the camera. Switch to floor stand mode and voilà!

I should mention that I believe most of the advanced analytics require the subscription plan, but I don’t believe it’s required for the basics. It also takes a night of data collection (I.e. 6 hours of sleep) to show the first set of info.
