Do real fans actually think the game is broken due to the volume of 3-point attempts this season?
Genuinely curious if people are watching games this year and feel like it's a broken product. I've watched multiple games from every team this year, and while there are young teams (and the Celtics) that will occasionally look like they're just chucking up 3s, most of the time I am super impressed by the diversity in style across teams.
When I watch teams like the Cavaliers, Nuggets, Thunder, Magic, Rockets, Grizzlies, and Pacers - it's always a bit of a puzzle to see how they'll go about setting up their offenses each night. The occasional blowouts aside, I've found these teams in particular to be super fun to watch all 48 mins.
It's just that I've been watching basketball for a long time, and I don't understand this amorphous style of play that some people think is missing from the game. There are teams taking midrange shots and there are teams playing defense on every possession.
If the team someone is watching doesn't have a style that is aesthetically pleasing to them - there is a team out there for them to be a fan of.
