Rock Musicians Who Will Never Retire

Jon Bon Jovi - The lead vocalist of his namesake band Bon Jovi shows no signs of slowing down. The band has been together for over 40 years and are still together today. While the band's touring days may be unofficially over due to Jon Bon Jovi's health issues, the band is still together and Jon Bon Jovi has no plans on retiring.

Joni Mitchell - Joni Mitchell has not toured since 2000. However, she has made a live performace comeback in recent years since touring from the COVID-19 Pandemic has resumed. Joni Mitchell played a surprise set performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 2022, then at the Echoes Through the Canyon concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre in 2023 and played at the Hollywood Bowl in 2024.

Stevie Nicks - Initially famous as the lead vocalist of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks has been famous since 1975 and shows no signs of retiring. While Stevie Nicks continues to tour extensively as a solo artist, Fleetwood Mac has confirmed that the band's days are over after keyboardist Christine McVie's death in late 2022.

Roger Waters - Best known as the lead vocalist and bassist of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters shows no signs of slowing down. Roger Waters remains the last man standing regularly touring performing Pink Floyd's music in large arenas and stadiums, most recently wrapping up his most recent tour in late 2023.

Paul Simon - Originally famous in the folk duo Simon & Garfunkel in the 1960s, Paul Simon began a solo career at the start of the 1970s. Paul Simon has embarked on a farewell tour in 2018 but is not fully retired from music and has since continued to play sporadic live shows in the years since on rare occasions. Simon & Garfunkel also continued to embark on several reunion tours, the last of which occurred in 2010.

Elton John - For nearly 60 years, Elton John has been famous for his piano based pop/rock and shows no signs of slowing down. Elton John wrapped up his long-COVID-delayed farewell tour in 2023 but is not fully retired from music and has since continued to play sporadic live shows since on rare occasions and is currently recording a new studio album.

Iggy Pop - Iggy Pop rose to fame as the lead vocalist of The Stooges and shows no signs of slowing down. He is only of one two of the surviving members of The Stooges left.

Paul McCartney - Best known initially as the lead vocalist and bassist of The Beatles, Paul McCartney shows no signs of retiring. Paul McCartney continues to tour and shows no signs of slowing down.

Bruce Springsteen - Bruce Springsteen has been famous since the early 1970s and shows no signs of retiring. He continues his long 3 1/2 hour concerts even up at his age.

The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones show no signs of retiring after over 60 years together and all the negative things and hard times the band has faced during their career as a band.
