Budget Mouse to use w/out mousepad

Northwestern CS student here:

Need a mouse for my laptop as an alternative to the Apple Magic Mouse (mine broke and it’s so overpriced).

The Apple Magic Mouse is so freaking good and works smoothly everywhere with no pad.

I need something with:

• smooth and soft feet that can slide well on wooden desks

• usb-c receiver

• under $40

Any help is greatly appreciated.

(I know it’s easy to carry around a mousepad—I don’t care I’m not going to do it, so don’t mention it.)
